3 places to visit in Krimulda
Krimulda is located on the hill on the right bank of the Gauja, on the opposite side from Sigulda. This is one of the most famous historical places in Latvia.
1. Krimulda Manor
On the territory of Krimulda Manor, not only the main building has been preserved, but also the outbuildings surrounding it – stables, barn, house of servants, summer pavilion. The estate itself was built in the 19th century in the neoclassical style. In the 1920s, the palace became the property of the Latvian Red Cross, which opened a children’s sanatorium there. Today, the Krimulda Rehabilitation Hospital is host in the palace.

2. Krimulda Castle
Not far from the manor, one may discover the ruins of the Krimulda Castle destroyed in 1601.

3. Cable car
Between the manor and the castle, there is an observation tower and a cable car station that leads from Sigulda. From here, you have a marvelous view of the Gauja and Sigulda. You can also walk along the winding serpentine, numerous steps and past the famous Gutmanis cave. By car, Krimulda can only be reached by a detour.
