Kuldiga is one of the most beautiful cities in Latvia located 150 km from Riga. Every year, Kuldiga attracts many tourists with its unique sights and atmosphere.

1. Historical center of Kuldiga

The Aleksupite River flows through the historical center, which explains why Kuldiga is often called “Venice of Latvia”. Explore its wooden buildings dating back to the 13th century and feel the spirit of the Middle Ages, walking along the narrow streets of the center.

2. Old Town Hall of Kuldiga

This is an architectural monument of national importance and an vital part of the cultural heritage of the Old Town of Kuldiga built in the 17th century. Today, it houses the Kuldiga Tourist Information Center and a weaving workshop.

3. Kuldīga city garden

This is a popular place for walking among locals and tourists. There is a pond with a fountain, trails, gazebos, an observation deck, sculptures and bridges.

4. Ventas-Rumba waterfall

The pride of Kuldiga is the widest waterfall in Europe located on the Venta River, one of the largest rivers in Latvia. Here, in spring, you can watch the “flying” fish vimba jumping over the waterfall.

5. Kuldiga brick bridge

The third brick bridge in Europe and the second oldest brick arch bridge in Latvia offers a beautiful view of the waterfall on the Venta River.

6. Aleksupite waterfall

The highest waterfall (4.15 m) in Kurzeme and the second highest in Latvia is located on the river Aleksupite.
