Koknese Manor and Park Ensemble
Koknese Park is located at the confluence of the Perse River and the Daugava, giving shelter to local and imported tree species as well as wild flowers. In the park, you can see the ruins of the medieval Koknese castle, the restored Faun’s Head fountain, carved wooden sculptures, cast-iron cannons, a tea house, and the graves of the heroes of the World War II.

On the outskirts of the park, you will find the Koknese (Alain) manor ensemble, where the writer Rudolfs Blaumanis lived from 1885 to 1887. The ensemble consists of a former laundry room, stone stable walls with a red brick arcade in the center and a manager’s house, which now houses the Rudolfs tavern. Nowadays, the Vidusdaugava forestry is hosted in the manor.
