Ausrinės Complex, Lithuania
A unique place for those who want to be truly isolated and relax in the lap of nature. The complex is located near Druskininkai, in the woods, on the shore of the lake. The houses are located at a distance from one another so that guests do not disturb each other’s peace.
The story of “Aušrinės” began with a strong female friendship and a common dream, and after several years of working together, small cottages were born. The friends wanted to create a unique place to stay, which is not designed for the general public and where you can disconnect from the city and relax in nature.
Each cottage has its own character, which reflects the inner self of the owners and their views on the environment, so they are named after them: Dovilė’s, Andrius’s, Gintarė’s, and Kęstutis’s. The interiors are filled with various personal details that have hints and meanings. Friends collected them for several years in flea markets and during joint trips around Europe. Most of the furniture has been restored, the beds are handmade.
Dovilė’s house is decorated in dark colours. Accents include purple cosy armchairs, brass fittings and paintings. Andrius’s house is accented with blue tones. Gintarė’s house is the brightest, with purple shades harmoniously combined with green and leopard print. Kęstutis’s house reflects a more brutal style with the most restrained palette, spicing up the interior’s elegance.
All cottages feature extraordinary bathrooms. One of the walls is made of glass. While enjoying a hot bubble bath, you may watch trees and birds, and sometimes even roe deer and other forest animals wandering around.
Each cottage has a stove, comfy armchairs opposite the window and a small kitchen area.
The complex offers rental of various equipment. You can grab bicycles to explore the surrounding forest or rods to do some fishing. For a romantic evening, you can even rent a screen with a projector. In winter, you can rent skates to ride on the frozen lake.
