By decision of the Prime Ministers of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, from today, May 15th, restrictions on movement within the Baltic countries are lifted. This should improve the epidemiological situation and support local tourism. Later, Poland might also join this “travel bubble”. Returning from a trip within the Baltic States, you do NOT need to put yourself in quarantine for 14 days, like after traveling to other countries. During the trip, you must have an identification document along and observe safety precautions taken in the country. You can get acquainted with them while crossing the border.

Current updates by country:

In Lithuania, the state of emergency has been extended until May 31st with the mandatory use of medical masks indoors (exception: cafes with outdoor terraces). From today, in addition to the Soločiai-Grenctāle border crossing point, Butinge-Rucava and Smelyne-Medumi open, from 18.05 – Meitene-Kalviai. Theaters, cinema and public events are still banned.

In Latvia, the state of emergency is prolonged until June 9th. Masks must be worn in public transport.

In Estonia, the state of emergency is on until May 17. At the moment, the “2+2” rule applies: maximum 2 people can gather in public with at least 2m distance from other people. Wearing a mask is required in certain places, entertainment centers and cinema are closed.
