“Baltijos Cirkas” circus. Kaunas, Lithuania

The oldest traditional circus in the Baltic countries offers amazing performances for both adults and children. It also embraces a museum, educational programs and a circus studio where you can master some professional tricks; all these activities and establishment are aimed at promoting circus culture and history. The circus is family-hosted and unites several generations of families working under one roof.

Every week, the arena hosts performances lasting an average of 1.5 hours. As part of the show, you can see actors, jugglers, trapeze artists, acrobats, tightrope walkers, as well as animals: dogs, goats and ponies. Both local and international artists perform at the arena; many of them also studied at the Academy of Circus Arts at Baltijos Circas.

The program changes regularly. In the next few weeks, on Saturdays, adults and children will be able to attend the show “The Adventures of the Pirate Cha-Cha II”, whose actors keep surprising all the guests of every age.

The circus has its own museum, where you can get acquainted with one of the largest collections of clowns featuring 2,500+ unique exhibits. The circus owners offer visitors and people who are interested in circus art the opportunity to enrich this collection: you can bring your own figurine, painting or any other item with a clown. Also, in the museum, you can explore “The Circus from the Other Side” photo exhibition and an educational display about the history of the circus.

Baltijos Cirkas provides training on the history of the circus and circus business with various programs for different ages. The program begins with a visit to the museum, continues with a small show introducing one to different genres of circus performances, and then visitors are invited to the arena to try their hand at one of the genres. Such training is carried out 2-3 times a week.
