Burtnieku Manor in Latvia
Burtnieku ancient manor with a park and a trail is located near Lake Burtnieki, 130 kilometers from Riga.
It was built in the 17th century on the foundation of a ruined order castle, which has not survived to this day.
All buildings of the estate were designed in the style of classicism of the 19th century, but over time some of them were rebuilt. The manor building was destroyed during World War II. Later, a cultural center and an office complex were established in its place.
The park in the estate was once a humble garden. Currently, the manor park, with an area of 10 hectares and 70 species of trees and shrubs, is a protected object of national importance. On the territory of the park, there is a granite staircase, an open-air bandstand and two linden alleys: the Alley of Love and the Alley of Sighs.
