Central square in Tõrva, Estonia
Tõrva is a small town in the southern part of Estonia, near the Latvian border. Its name comes from the Estonian word “tõrv” which means “resin”.
The central square in Tõrva starts from the old tavern, passes by the town hall and ends at Lake Veskijärv.
Last year, Freedom Park was established on the square in support of Ukraine. The park features sand sculptures, abstract sculptures and a photo exhibition.
On the embankment of the city, there is a symbolic 9-meter high oven, which is illuminated at night.
On the streets, you may notice restrictive posts in the form of a resin drop, which reflect the name of the city.
