The central square in Võru, Estonia
The central square is the historical heart of Võru embraces various significant buildings, for example, the St. Catherine’s Lutheran Church, the oldest building in the city – gymnasium, the fire station, and the St. Catherine’s Apostolic Church.

Designed by the architect Willem Thomiste, the renovated central square was opened in 2019 to celebrate the centenary of the Republic of Estonia.

The square is special for its vibrant ‘urban furniture’. The square is very lively due to fairs, concerts and seasonal festivals held here.
