Cesvaine castle in Latvia
Adolf von Wulff’s Castle was being built for several years, from 1893 to 1896. It is considered one of the most striking architectural achievements of the 19th century, included in the European Cultural Heritage List since 1997. As part of the “Let’s Visit the Castles of Latvia” campaign, it received the honorary status of “Dream Castle”. Since 1919, a school was located here, and in 2002, part of the castle was destroyed by fire.
Cesvaine Castle is attractive both outside and inside. Visitors are welcome to explore the luxurious halls, go down to the cellars and climb up to the tower. Before visiting, we recommend checking the opening hours on the official website.
