Dauderi Museum in Riga, Latvia
Dauderi is a museum of cultural rarities of the philanthropist Gaidis Graudins. It was opened in 1990 in a historical mansion in Riga, in the Sarkandaugava district. On the territory of the museum, a beautiful park and the Aldaris brewery are established. The mansion was built in 1897 as a family villa of Adolf von Büngner, a wealthy brewery owner.
After the First World War, the mansion was empty for many years; later it used to serve as a summer residence of Karlis Ulmanis, a kindergarten, as well as an assortment room and tasting room of the Ministry of Food Industry of Latvia in Soviet times.
On the first floor of the museum, there is a modern multimedia exhibition dedicated to the history of the mansion, each room, the garden around, the surrounding area and the most valuable items from Gaidis Graudins’ collection.
