Melnā Kamene Gastrobar in Ogre, Latvia

This state-of-the-art restaurant, bar and pastry shop is located in the heart of the Ogre city promenade. It features a trendy interior, a bright cozy terrace and a diverse menu. This is a very new venue, having opened in May 2021.

On the menu, you will find both Latvian dishes with a modern twist as well as treats from around the world: Thai poke, Japanese ramen, different types of noodles, steaks, vegetarian and vegan options. There is also a children’s menu.

We recommend trying pork ribs with baked potatoes and mango chutney, slow cooked, tender and juicy. If you like fish, order pike perch fillet with mashed potatoes and warm tomato salad. As an appetizer, we recommend poke with salmon and a salad with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls. All dishes have impeccable presentation and generous portions.

The menu is seasonal and changes twice a year. The selection of desserts is constantly varying here. You will not see them in the list as all the desserts of the day are exhibited in the display window by the bar: eclairs, cakes, rolls and signature desserts in handy jars to enjoy on site or to take away. The pricing policy is customer friendly: a piece of cake costs €2.20, eclairs – €1.50, and most buns and pies – €0.60. Locals have already appreciated this spot and often come here to take away pastries.

The venue is proud of its hot drinks served in edible cups. We highly recommend matching coffee with local fresh pastries. Vegan and moderately sweet cups made from natural grains keep the shape well and do not affect the taste of the drink.

Melnā Kamene also serves outstanding cocktails – you can come here with a cheerful company, enjoy drinks, fresh air and music.

Now a terrace is available for the guests of the restaurant, the bakery works as a store, and a banquet hall on the second floor is up for reservations.
