Gastronomist Restoran & Terrass is a new dot on the gastronomic map of Tartu. The restaurant opened in September 2024, but has already won great popularity among visitors. This is not surprising, because the owner and part-time chef of the restaurant Karl Pajussaar is well known to the residents of Tartu for his professional approach to business and excellent taste.

The restaurant is located in a beautiful part of the city in a historical villa. A large private area surrounds it: in summer, guests can relax on the terrace or at one of the more secluded tables. Inside, the two-story restaurant impresses with its aesthetic interior: brick walls are combined with wooden furniture and modern elements. The interior design, as well as the furniture, were tailored especially for Gastronomist Restoran & Terrass by the Schmidt design salon. The open kitchen allows you to watch the team of chefs at work.

The seasonal menu offers a variety of dishes from Estonian, European and Asian cuisine. Here, everyone will find something to suit their taste, and a great combination of flavors and textures distinguishes all the dishes. The chef often experiments, so the restaurant always has something to surprise its guests with.

On weekdays, from 12:00 to 15:00, the restaurant features a lunch offer for one to enjoy a hearty lunch at a special price.

On Fridays and Saturdays, there are special dinners from the chef held in a beautiful hall in a wonderful atmosphere while the guests enjoy a 6-course tasting
menu by Chef Karl Pajussaar. There is a menu for vegetarians, and you can also choose what drinks will accompany the dishes.

The Gastronomist Restoran & Terrass team also accepts individual orders and will be happy to take care of your festive occasion. You may also arrange your celebration for up to 36 people in the premises or even in the garden capable of fitting 50 people in high season.

In February 2025, the restaurant will participate in the “Tasty Tartu” campaign for the first time, encouraging its guests to try a special 3-course tasting menu from the chef.
