Žegždriai geological trail, Lithuania
The 1.6-km long winding wooden path with descents and ascents offers a panoramic view of the Kaunas reservoir.
At the end of the trail, you will see an unusual outcrop of lime, clay and gravel called Kalniškės, which was formed during the Ice Age. It reaches 400 meters in length and 22 meters in height.
Walking along the path, you can find out how stalactites differ from stalagmites, and see them with your own eyes. This is the only place of its kind in Lithuania.
There are information boards with puzzles for children and adults along the Žegřdriai trail.
The most convenient way to get to the trail is by car, the distance from the center of Kaunas is about 20 km.
On the way to the trail, you can see a fenced area with deer.
