Gramophone Museum and Alės Podėnienės Manor. Birzai, Lithuania

This unconventional place will especially appeal to music fans. The museum’s collection includes 250+ gramophones from different times. Here, you will always find good music, delicious coffee and a bunch of exciting musical stories.

The museum is located on the picturesque territory of the Alės Podėnienės estate. The museum’s collection began with the owner’s gramophone he and his wife used to listen to when they were young. They were so into music that they even started collecting gramophones. Today, the collection features more than 250 gramophones from different eras, 22 of them crafted by the owner’s hands.

The museum offers a tour to get introduced to the history of gramophones and vinyl records as well as enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and listen to a few records. This excursion will be especially interesting for modern children and teenagers who are accustomed to music in a digital format; for them, this is an excellent opportunity to unveil history and discover the world of music.

The ticket price is 3 EUR per person, and the tour price is from 6 to 10 EUR (it has to be booked in advance). 

Besides the museum, there is a guest house on the territory with a kitchen, sauna, event hall, volleyball and basketball courts. There is a river nearby where you can soak after the sauna, as well as several terraces and picnic areas. This is an excellent place for celebrating a wedding or birthday, as well as for holding an off-site conference: the house can accommodate up to 22 people, and the spacious hall is suitable for both a banquet and a seminar.
