This year, in early June, the annual Sand Sculpture Festival was about to take place. Due to restrictions on mass events, the organizers abandoned the traditional event conduction and opened a sand sculpture park on the island of Pasta instead. It will be operating from June 20th to October 1st every day, from 10:00 to 20:00. Ticket prices: for students and seniors – €1, for adults – €2. This year, the sculptures are dedicated to the 755th anniversary of Jelgava as well as the legends, people and events associated with it. Due to the pandemic, foreign artists have been unable to participate and all works have been accomplished by local sculptors.
