Satezeles Canyon in Sigulda, Latvia
A well-maintained nature trail that overlooks Sigulda from the Sateseles castle mound goes down to the spring, taking you to the canyon. In the Middle Ages, the oldest settlement of Sigulda and the Drabel Castle were located on the hill, which was completely destroyed during the battles with German tribes.
If you walk past the settlement down a forest path, you will find yourself in the canyon itself with a small gorge, outcrops of red rocks and convenient trails in the woods. The walk can be combined with a tour of the Petera cave and a small waterfall on the Vējupīte river. The path is equipped with signs.
