Kuressaare Castle in Saaremaa, Estonia
Kuressaare Castle is one of the most remarkable and well-preserved fortifications in Estonia. Being continuously built from the 14th to the 16th century, it used to be the medieval seat of the Özel bishops.
Nowadays, the castle houses a historical museum where you can get acquainted with the history of the island of Saaremaa, visit permanent and temporary exhibitions, attend various events for children and adults, go for a treasure hunt or practise some bow shooting. Around the fortress moat one will find a picturesque park with a playground.
