Limbazi is a small town in the north of Latvia known since 1223. In ancient times, a Liv settlement used to reside here. The city attracts travelers with its old buildings, calm atmosphere and castle ruins.

Main attractions:

• Old city with the remains of the city wall

• The ruins of a stone castle, which was originally built in the 13th century as the summer residence of the Archbishop of Riga. The castle was destroyed during the Livonian War. Part of the castle was restored and mothballed in the late 1990s. Admission to the tower: €0.30.

• The Old Fire Station, a brick building with a four-story tower. In summer, you can visit the Fire Museum, climb the tower and enjoy the panorama of the city.

• Two churches – the Church of St. John and the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior

On the outskirts of the city, there is a lake Lielezers with camping areas, a walking trail and a beach.
