Max Cekot Kitchen Restaurant. Riga, Latvia
This fine dining venue in Riga became the first Latvian restaurant to receive a Michelin star in 2024. Here, you will experience an amazing gastronomic journey that will change your understanding of conventional food service.
The restaurant is located in the industrial area of Riga and is housed in a building built in 1911. Once being a woodworking factory, it got a new life in 2018, when chef Maksim Cekot opened a restaurant whose concept was completely tailored by himself, including every detail of the interior design.
Dinner at Max Cekot Kitchen is a unique experience. Each guest is greeted on the first floor of the restaurant, where the first stage of the dinner takes place. The team serves appetizers: the first 5 courses from the tasting menu comprising 15 dishes.
You will be offered a choice of drinks to accompany your meals. The restaurant has a collection of 1,000+ bottles of wine from all over the world. You can choose one of three wine sets to suit your taste or a non-alcoholic set crafted from local products. You can also order signature cocktails, which change seasonally. Each set of drinks is composed in such a way as to perfectly match the dishes.
After the appetizers, you are invited to the second floor, where you will enjoy 9 main courses. The open kitchen allows you to observe the process, and the restaurant team will tell you about each dish in Latvian, Russian and English.
The grand finale of the dinner is three magnificent desserts.
All the dishes are distinguished not only by a stunning combination of flavors, but also by a spectacular aesthetic presentation.
The seasonal menu is updated every two months, and new dishes are added every three weeks. Maksim Cekot and the team are constantly looking for ways to surprise guests, and they succeed every time.
The restaurant has a special format: Chef’s Table, where guests are seated at a special table right next to the kitchen and can watch the cooking process from start to finish and chat with the restaurant team.
