The bastion was built by order of the Grand Duke Alexander in the 16th century and dismantled at the beginning of the 19th century.

In 1987, the restored fortress became a museum.

The museum is dedicated to the history of Lithuanian defense over centuries.

Here, you can find artillery weapons, various ammo units and elements of the military armor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of the 17th-18th centuries.

Visitors can also enjoy views of the city from the observation deck at the top of the bastion.
