Daugava Museum on Dole Island, Latvia
The Dole Island Museum was founded in 1969. At first it was named the Dole Island Museum, but since 1993 it has been known as the Daugava Museum. The reason for its establishment was the construction of a hydroelectric power station, when archaeologists found many records of life on the banks of the Daugava on its territory. In the museum, you can compare the Daugava and its banks before and after the construction of the hydroelectric power station.
