We keep telling you about the secluded places where you can enjoy nature with no bustle. Here you are, 15 objects throughout Lithuania one can take advantage of, some of them might be actually within your reach.

Šventoji might not be the most popular resort in Lithuania, but it is surely a perfect destination for locals and tourists to enjoy some peaceful recreation. Huge sandy beaches, a bunch of campsites (including abandoned ones), an old pier with the “Daughters of a Fisherman” sculpture, the Šventoji River, pine forest and fresh sea breeze await you in the dunes. Take a leisurely walk around the village itself as it embraces various beautiful spots.

This historical place features several artillery batteries, military fortifications and WWII bunkers scattered in the dunes and along the beach near Klaipeda.

This wooden 1.2 km long trail is paved over the so-called ‘kulgrinda’ (in Lithuanian ‘kūlgrinda’ means ‘a secret stone road that runs in swamps below the water level’). The trail introduces visitors to the flora and fauna of the marshlands.

This is a 1.9 km long educational trail near the Kaunas reservoir equipped with information boards dedicated to local nature.

This 1.3 km long hiking trail is the longest equipped walking pathway in the Kaunas region. Some parts of it are laid with boards with a natural forest path behind.
the trail is located on the edge of a cliff nearby the Kaunas lagoon whose steep slopes are covered with rich and rare grassy flora. Junipers grow here in their natural environment.

Being one of the most unique places in Lithuania, “Kernave” is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the 13th century, it was a large city with five fortifications. Today, you can only see hills that form an amazing landscape and attract many tourists.

The trail is one of the most challenging and exciting routes of the Neris Regional Park near Vilnius. Here, the only mountain river in Lithuania Duksta flows through the canyon, and one can climb the mounds of Bradeliškės and Buivydai in the forest valley.

This protected natural monument in the Pavilnių Regional Park is the highest and most impressive geological outcrop in Lithuania formed by the turbulent waters of the Vilna River. Its height reaches 65 m and width equals to 260 m.
Pūčkorių observation deck over the geological outcrop is very conveniently located right on the main road leading from the center of Vilnius. A spacious parking is also available for visitors. The site offers views of the Vilnia River, hills and forests. The territory is well-equipped with paved wooden ladders, ramps, and a gazebo.

This very curvy trail with ups and downs runs along a small canyon type river (1.2 km long) which connects Asveja and Suoselis lakes.

The promenade stretches along the “Holy” Sventoji River. The length of the trail from the Horse Museum to the Treetop Walking Path is 15 kilometers. The trail is also suitable for cycling.

Trail start: at the karst “Geologists’ gap” (Barsuko olos pažintinis takas).

These small blue lakes, which represent karstic voids filled with water, are located in the territory of Birzai Regional Park, near the border with Latvia.
Visitors can make use of paths built along the lakes and enjoy a panoramic view over the picturesque landscapes from the high moon-shaped observation deck.

Located in Šiauliai, just 5 km from the city center, this mound used to be a strategic fortification during the war. Nowadays, around the mound one will find a park and a monument to the war battles taking place on the Šiauliai land from 1236 to 1945.

This is the longest boardwalk trail – up to 3.6 km – through a marsh in Lithuania, passing across the Žagarė Regional Park. Here you can enjoy the silence and get acquainted with the flora and fauna of the high bog.
