Old Hapsal Hotel is a small, family-run boutique hotel in Haapsalu, created for guests who value peace, personal hospitality, good food and places with a story.

The hotel’s history stems from the travels and hiking adventures of a married couple, Daire and Veiko. They completely transformed the old red brick building, infusing it with the charm of Haapsalu, a warm, personal atmosphere, and their memories from around the world. The owners personally greet guests, while Daire prepares breakfast and hosts many of the hotel’s culinary experiences, creating an atmosphere where time seems to slow down.

The hotel offers just 10 intimate rooms, each dedicated to a specific country that has left a mark on the owners: from Estonia and Georgia to Bali, Bolivia and India. Every room is incredibly finely decorated, featuring authentic fabrics, furniture restored by Estonian artisans, and decorative details brought back from their travels. In such a space, you truly want to savor the moment. During the warmer months, you may enjoy relaxing in the blooming garden or on the bright veranda.

Food is an important part of the Old Hapsal Hotel experience. The hotel regularly hosts a series of themed dinners, “Travel Without Traveling!”, where guests embark on culinary journeys through different cultures and cuisines from around the world. Breakfast is served in small batches and continuously replenished, keeping everything fresh throughout the morning. Eggs, fish, local ingredients, homemade specialities and the hotel’s guest-favourite plum jam are all part of the experience.

The hotel’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its Green Key certification and everyday practices such as conserving resources, using solar energy, minimizing food waste and planting bee-friendly flowers in the garden. The hotel also has its own electric vehicle charging station.

The hotel also hosts celebrations, weddings, culinary workshops, seminars and management meetings, particularly for smaller groups of around 12–20 people. Exclusive use of the entire hotel can also be arranged when a group books the whole property.
