Pagrabiņš Restaurant in Kuldiga, Latvia

Being one of the most famous and beloved restaurants in Kuldiga, Pagrabiņš is known for its special atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious European and Latvian cuisine and generous portions.

The restaurant located in the heart of Kuldiga, on Town Hall Square, has been operating since 2001. Next to its building, there is one of the most popular attractions of the city and photo spots, a monument to the Latvian actor Evalds Valters. The monument is often involved in local performances, celebrations and events, and the walls of the restaurant are decorated with various photos of this monument.

The restaurant is located in the basement of the old town hall building. During the restoration, the old brick walls were preserved for the sake of authenticity. The hall is conveniently divided into zones, so that several groups could enjoy their meal without disturbing each other. There are smaller areas perfect for a romantic date and larger ones for groups of up to 14 people. In summer, there is one terrace on Town Hall Square overlooking the old town and another with the views over the small river Aleksupite.

The menu is seasonal, but the basis is formed upon visitors’ time-tested favorite dishes of both European and traditional Latvian dishes, such as herring with cottage cheese and potatoes and Latvian bread dessert.

The names of the dishes here are very creative: “First Aid” appetizer, “Lord of the Rings” pork rum, “Angry chop”, etc. We recommend trying:

– marinated chicken with teriyaki sauce,
– Gulbja laboratorija chicken fillet,
– fruit tea,
– signature orange hot drink.

The restaurant team is friendly and ultimately welcoming in every term. The waiters are always ready to recommend a dish or a drink to match your taste; the venue is also known for its excellent wine list.
