Pärnu Old Town, Estonia

Being a small town with narrow streets, wooden buildings and cozy cafes and restaurants, Pärnu is one of the most famous resorts in Estonia.

You can start your acquaintance with Pärnu from the Tallinn Gate, a preserved fragment of the city fortifications where the road to Tallinn used to begin upon. Then you may head to the old Town Hall built in the 18th century in the style of early classicism and have a glance at the former bowerhouse – the oldest building in the city constructed on the foundation of a 13th century house – as well as at the Red Tower, a former prison which is now hosting a wine restaurant.

You can get to Pärnu by bus, train or car. The road by car from Tallinn will take you about 2 hours, from Riga – 2,5 hours.
