Užutrakis is a beautiful estate on the shores of Lake Galvė with a view of the Trakai Castle.

The area around the lake and the Užutrakis peninsula are first mentioned in written sources of the 14th century. In the second half of the 19th century, the estate was acquired by Count Jozef Tyszkiewicz.

One of the count’s sons built a house here in the style of early French classicism.

Užutrakis was used by the count as a summer residence, so special attention was paid to park details. Copies of ancient sculptures, extraordinary flora, marble vases, a decorative pond, bridges and pavilions have survived to this day.

Since 2013, the estate has been open to the public. Classical music concerts, exhibitions, festivals and other cultural events take place here.

Užutrakis has been recognized as a landscape and architectural reserve since 1993.
