Amatciems village
This eco-settlement is a marvelous sample of landscape architecture. Its creator, the Latvian millionaire Aivars Zvirbulis, initially created the village for himself and his family, but later started space planning for like-minded people.
The village has internal rules: it is important to live in harmony with neighbors and nature, not to disturb wild animals, to keep quiet and to look after the territory. For example, in the evening and at night, you can not make noise, build fences, or keep dogs chained.
A distinctive feature of the village is plenty of water. Initially, there were only two lakes here: the Melnezers and the Vēķis. Nowon can find here more than 30 reservoirs occupying about 30% of the area.
You can have a walk around at any time.
