Promenade in Carnikava

The longest seafront promenade in Latvia opened last weekend.

A 1800 m long promenade was opened in Carnikava, 15 km from Riga. The path leads to the sea through the Piejura natural park.

The promenade is located at the “Natura 2000” preservation which inspired the works to be conducted especially carefully, protecting nature and following the instructions of environmental services.

The road through the forest is quite monotonous: it is a straight tile-laid path with five recreation areas, a boardwalk by the sea and a wooden observation deck.

You can visit it all year round.
