Puente Restaurant. Tartu, Estonia

A new place emerged on the gastronomic map of Tartu in January 2025, having declared itself as the most extraordinary restaurant in the city.

Puente is located in an industrial building in Tartu. The interior emphasizes the unique concept of the restaurant: stylish, modern, industrialised, but very cozy. The walls are decorated with paintings which have become part of the Puente signature experience: wine paired with art. You choose a painting, and the waiter offers wine to go with it. This experience can only be embraced at Puente.

The restaurant’s menu combines Japanese sophistication and Peruvian passion. The Nikkei cuisine concept is still rare in Estonia, at Puente it is striking with an original approach, ease of serving and a combination of unexpected tastes and textures. The menu was developed by chef Mati Ludimois known for his extensive international experience.

Every dish here is designed to be shared. It is convenient to order dishes for everyone, if you come with friends or family. Even the main dishes can be ordered in “to share” format, which turns dinner into a real gastronomic ritual of communication.

– Basque burnt cheesecake and Suspiro de Limeña for dessert.

It is worth noting the incredibly aesthetic presentation: each dish looks like a work of art, which perfectly matches the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

The extensive drink menu has a beverage for every taste. There is an excellent selection of wines as well as cocktails and soft drinks.
