St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Višķi, Latvia
The church is established on the outskirts of Višķi, a village located on the way from Daugavpils to Aglona, on the Dubna river, near two lakes.
St. John Church was built from hewn boulders in 1908-1925. This is one of the most impressive cathedrals in the Latgale countryside. It is recognized as an architectural monument of national importance and is considered one of the few sacred buildings in the Daugavpils region.
Pilgrims annually travel to Aglona in August to visit this church as one of the important religious strongholds.
