Sabile, Latvia
The town’s main symbol is the Wine Hill. This vineyard is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as one of the northernmost in the world.
In the center of Sabile is a former synagogue, now home to the Center for Art, Culture, and Tourism.
Nearby, stands an ancient Lutheran church, home to the oldest bell in Latvia and the oldest wooden pulpit.
For a view of the town and the river valley from above, you can climb Castle Hill, where a wooden Curonian castle was once established.
