Salos Manor. Rokiskis region, Lithuania
Salos Manor is one of the most unusual and picturesque places in Lithuania. It is located on an island in the middle of Lake Dviragas, whose area once made it possible to keep a huge zoo here. The history of the estate dates back to the 15th century and is inextricably linked with the greatest families: the Kesgayls and the Radziwills. Today, it is an island of culture, where classic neoclassicism coexists with modern technology and gastronomic wonders.
The main building of the estate is a majestic white-stone palace surrounded by an ancient park. But the most interesting thing is hidden inside. In the basement hall “Peklėlė”, a unique project for the Baltic countries was implemented: an interactive gastronomic projection. During dinner, the history of the manor and its legends come to life right on your table: projections interact with the dishes, creating the effect of history on a plate (the program is available in Lithuanian and English).
Another surprise awaits guests in the restaurant of the estate: the robot cat BELLA, a modern assistant who delivers orders throughout the halls and terraces, delighting adults and children.
Salos offers a rare opportunity not just to visit a museum, but spend a night too. The estate has cozy rooms for accommodation, allowing guests to wake up in the silence of the island park and enjoy breakfast overlooking the lake.
There are several spaces available for special events:
– Assembly hall (up to 250 people);
– Gray hall (up to 80 people);
– Armorial Hall (up to 50 people);
– Chamber hall “Peklėlė” for exclusive dinners.
Salos Manor is famous for its workshops, which turn an ordinary visit into a creative adventure. Here you can
– create sweet masterpieces: paint pictures with chocolate, cook the famous “Korovka” candies or prepare unique carrot chocolate,
– immerse yourself in crafts: cast candles from natural beeswax or create compositions from coffee grounds,
– engage in art: craft oil paintings on canvas under the guidance of a professional artist.
A walk through the 7-hectare park by the water, tasting homemade pies and the magic of island life make Salos a must-see on your Baltic itinerary.
