Gaujiena is a settlement in Latvia located on the right bank of the Gauja, 160 km from Riga and 8 km from the Estonian border.

We have tailored a short walking route through this historic city:

1. The ruins of the castle of the Livonian Teutonic Order. The castle was built in 1238 and destroyed during the Livonian and Northern Wars.

2. Gaujiena Manor. Being built in 1850 in the classicist style by Baron Julius von Wulf, it is beautifully decorated with columns and statues of lions in the front.

3. Manor house where the composer Jazeps Vitols used to live. Now it houses the Anniņas Memorial Museum.

4. “Garden of Sounds”.
This is a new tourist site in Gaujen. Visitors of its trail can play a variety of instruments located along the 8-stop music trail.
