Sigulda medieval castle and new manor complex. Latvia
The two most famous castles in Sigulda are the Medieval Castle of the Livonian Order and the New Sigulda Palace.

The medieval castle was built in 1207 as a defensive fortress. Nowadays, in the castle, you can explore the North Tower and the main Gate Tower.

The new palace, built in 1878, has retained the neo-Gothic style on the outside. In 1937, the castle turned into a gem of national romanticism.

Since 2013, the development of the Sigulda Castle Quarter began in Sigulda. Today, it houses workshops for artisans and artists where you can learn new skills and buy souvenirs.
