Due to the postponement of the annual international festival of light “Staro Rīga” to the beginning of next year, in November 2020, residents of Riga are encouraged to take part in the campaign # Staromājās (#shineathome).

It has already been started by five Latvian artists: Helena Heinrihsone, Katrina Neiburga, Christians Brekte, Kristaps Ancans and Mikelis Murnieks. All residents of Riga are invited to join it.

The artists will show videos of their creative lighting works for viewers to get inspired and create their own vivid light masterpieces and decorations while staying at home.

The campaign is aimed at creating a festive atmosphere in Riga, celebrating Latvia’s birthday at home with loved ones and sharing the holiday with the whole city using the hashtag #staromajas on social networks.

The promotion will last from November 16th to November 22nd.
