Šnekutis bar-restaurant in Vilnius, Lithuania
Šnekutis is a colorful youth place with hearty and tasty Lithuanian food, craft beer and affordable prices. Despite the tourist location, this spot is loved by the locals: it is always crowded, being especially full of hustle and fun in the evening.
The bar has been working for more than 10 years. During this time, it changed several premises and expanded, as it is very popular with visitors.
There are many local dishes on the menu: zeppelins, Žemaičiu pancakes, Lithuanian peas with bacon and much more. Prices are pleasantly surprising: they are among the most affordable in the Old Town. Here, you may find soups for 3-4 euros, and second courses for an average of 5-12 euros. The portions are huge: for example, famous Lithuanian zeppelins will be the size of two fists each.
Every day there is a lunch offer. Dishes can be ordered over the house or to the office via delivery services, but we recommend visiting Šnekutis and enjoying the atmosphere – it is the only bar of its kind in the Baltic States.
Any draft beer here will not disappoint you. Šnekutis itself produces filtered and unfiltered beer and also imports varieties from small Lithuanian breweries. There are 29 draught beer types and many bottled beers available. We recommend trying the local liquor too.
The atmosphere in the bar is eclectic with its subdued lights, coloured garlands, a small stage, table football, vintage details, wooden tables and benches, like in classic bars. The public here is definitely enjoying themselves, with savory beer in their hands, talking and laughing.
We recommend trying cold borscht, pork shank with peas and stewed cabbage, grilled country sausages and, of course, draught beer.
