Palanga Old Town

Palanga is a small resort town in the west of Lithuania perfect for hiking and outdoor activities, jogging along the coast and cycling to neighboring cities.

You can start a walk from the old part of the city, Basanaviciaus street, by exploring historical buildings and having a cup of coffee. After, you can get closer to the sea, in particular, to the pier with an adorable view over the dunes.

Birute Park is also worth a visit. Until the 19th century, the woods occupied this area, but now it features walking paths, ponds, a Neo-Renaissance palace and the Museum of Amber. In summer, the park hosts free concerts and sessions of classical music.

You can get to Palanga by bus or plane as the city has its own airport. By car, it will take you 3.5 hours to get from Vilnius or Riga.
