Tallinn Old Town, Estonia
Tallinn Old Town is a prime example of the well-preserved historic center of a prosperous northern European trading city. In 1997, the Old Town was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
City streets embrace medieval houses, cobblestones, churches, city walls and towers, as well as various sightseeing spots.
Tallinn has preserved 18 historic towers and about 2 kilometers of walls, equal to half of the entire perimeter of the Old City.
The Upper Town (Toompea in Estonian) is also a part of the Old Town. There are four observation decks offering picturesque views of different parts of Tallinn: the tiled roofs of the Old Town, skyscrapers of the modern center, green parks and the sea bay.
