At the very end of the Lithuanian part of the Curonian Spit, beyond Nida, the dunes of Parnidis are located. This is a lovely spot to enjoy sunrises and sunsets. There is also a sundial and a trail to the “Valley of Death” with marvelous coastal views.
The highest flashing sand dunes in Europe are located on a narrow Curonian spit, between a Pervalka and a Juodkrante, and reach a height of 60 meters. Four villages and two cemeteries rest under the dunes.
Neringa is a resort town on the Lithuanian side of the Curonian Spit stretching for 50 km along the sea. It consists of four villages: Juodkrante, Pervalka, Preila and Nida. You should definitely come here to have a relaxing holiday, stroll along huge dunes and behold stunning views.
Ķūķu Cliff is a 43m-high geological monument located in the Gauja National Park and protected at the national level. This is the highest Devonian rocks outcrop in Latvia.
These sandy hills with a bit of green specks at the Lithuanian side of the Curonian Spit reach 60 m in height, which equals to a 20-storey building.
