Tiirimetsa Church of the Nativity of Christ, Estonia
The church was built in 1873 according to the designs of architect Heinrich Scheel. A parish school building was erected nearby, accessed by a linden alley having survived till nowadays.
During the war in Saaremaa in 1944, the church was used as a transit point, after which it was looted and burned.
In 1952, the parish was officially disbanded.
Today, picturesque ruins remain of the church. There is a small parking lot and an information stand nearby. The grounds are well-maintained; you can walk around the ruins, but entering is not safe.
