1. The Aleksotas and Žaliakalnis funiculars, the symbols of the city, have been operating since the 1930s. The Žaliakalnis funicular takes you to the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, and the Aleksotas funicular gets you up the hill, offering a stunning panorama of the city.

2. Street art

5. Laisvės Alley is one of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe displaying various cafes, bars and restaurants, museums, monuments and other curious objects.

6. Kaunas Old Town is the historical part of the city, where buildings in the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles have been preserved. The tallest building in Old Kaunas, the City Hall, is located on Town Hall Square.

7. The Courtyard Gallery established by artist Vytenis Jakas is an art object in the yard of a residential building. On the walls of the houses, you can see the stories of its inhabitants.

8. Pažaislis Monastery is one of the most beautiful places in the city, a nook of Italy in Lithuania. The monastery was built in the 17th century by craftsmen from Florence. The monastery can be explored thoroughly during guided tours.
