Trail near Lake Slokas, Latvia
Lake Slokas is a great place for outdoor walks and bird watching throughout the year.
The 3.1-km long trail embracing it is partially covered with soil, and the swampy areas are equipped with boardwalks.
A walk along the trail allows you to enjoy the wet forests near Veršupite and explore the sulfur spring at Lake Slokas, a large boulder and several swamp lakes.
The trail begins at the lake; parking and a picnic area are available here.
There is also a 7-m-high observation tower nearby, which offers a magnificent view of the lake.
During a flood, the water level rises and it is recommended to take rubber boots with you for a walk.
