Kalamecu-Markuzu gorges, Latvia
Protected geological objects of national importance – the gorges of Kalamecu and Markuzu – are located in the north-east of Latvia, 5 km from Gaujena.
Picturesque canyon-like ravines with waterfalls, dolomite rocks and caves get their ultimately impressive look in spring or after heavy rains, when rivers fill with water, forming rapids and streams.
