Pikene cliff and Small Devil’s Cave in Sigulda, Latvia
Being a 1-km long picturesque stretch of the right bank of the Gauja, the sandy Pikene cliff represents a natural spot with numerous gorges and several caves, covered with nationally protected woods. Murmuring streams flow down from it, forming a small waterfall, which turns into an icefall in winter.
The cliff is located between the pedestrian bridge over the Gauja and the manor house in Krimulda.
Small Devil’s Cave is located at the foot of the cliff, opposite the old valley of the Gauja River – Vecupe.
The cave entrance consists of two parts separated by a sandstone column.
It is forbidden to enter the cave!
