Valpene pyramid, Latvia

Home » Объекты » Valpene pyramid, Latvia

The pyramid was created by sculptor Vilnis Titans in 1990, based on the idea of the poet Imantas Ziedonis.

It symbolizes the contribution of the Latvian writer Krišjānis Barons, who collected and published dainas (Latvian folk songs).

The height of the monument is about 9 meters.

Stones were collected from the fields and are carved with the names of houses that were destroyed during land reclamation. The inscriptions on them are located depending on the direction in which each house was heading.

You can safely climb to the top of the pyramid by following the arrows; it offers a beautiful view from above.

Next to the pyramid, there is the Valpena Manor building, where Krisljanis Barons used to live.
