Valterberg Manor in Mazsalaca, Latvia
The Valtenberg Manor, or the Mazsalacas Palace, is a complex of unique old buildings, whose borders expanded and reduced over time.
It was first mentioned in 1528, when the master of the Livonian Order, Walter von Plettenberg, donated land in the vicinity of Mazsalaca to the knight Vincent Steen.
After restoration, since 1925 and until 2014, the manor used to host a school. Now, the building houses the local government and a museum where you can discover exhibitions of various antiques, wooden sculptures, bells and hunting trophies.
