Vilnius Zoo, Lithuania
With an area of 2500+ square meters, Vilnius Zoo is home to more than 80 different species of animals from all over the world. The zoo suggests its visitors learn more about the diversity of the Earth’s fauna as well as interact with some of the species, for example, by feeding them.
The peculiarity of this zoo is that many animals do reside in cages, but roam freely in specially designated areas. For example, you can get along with lemurs, explore a bat cave, and visit small monkeys: lion marmosets, tamarins and pygmy monkeys.
If you’d like to participate in feeding rituals, you are to purchase special food and get to know the feeding schedule. You can treat rabbits, bats, fish and watch staff feed other animals, such as meerkats, turtles and hedgehogs.
You can spend the whole day at the Vilnius Zoo. The zoo is indoors, so you can come here in any weather throughout the year. At the entrance to the zoo, there is a large aquarium with fish, and on the upper floors, you will find warm terrariums and enclosures.
If you’d like to learn more about the zoo’s inhabitants, you may book a tour with a guide who will share interesting details about each species. You can also celebrate children’s birthday at the Vilnius Zoo. Guests can choose from three premises, for 12, 20 and 35 people.
