The House of Histories is a new division of the National Museum of Lithuanian dedicated to present history in modern and interactive way.
Exhibitions are constantly changing here, giving insights into periods of time and important discoveries. Even the most complex research is presented here in a comprehensive manner so that a child can understand it.

This is an exhibition space that promises to be “a space which invites visitors to experience history not as something fixed in the past but as integral to the reality we are creating today.”

Exhibitions occupy two floors: first exposition is presented on the first floor, second one reside on the second. Exhibitions are accompanied by seminars, discussions and performances held by outstanding personalities. It is also worth visiting for the sake of the interior: it is both minimalistic and restrained, yet futuristic and complemented with curious details. Along with the change of exhibitions, the space around them also gets rearranged.

Currently, 3 exhibitions are available in the House of Histories:
– International exhibition “Goddesses and Warriors: 100 Years to Marija Gimbutas” – until March 13th 2022. This is an exhibition dedicated to the work of the most famous Lithuanian archaeologist in the world and two fundamental scholar’s hypotheses on the development and identity of European culture.
