Birštonas is a resort town in Lithuania located near Kaunas, on the coast of the Nemunas River, known for its mineral waters and SPA’S. This is a great place to spend a romantic time or relax with the whole family. The city has a rich history and many historical monuments that deserve your attention and are worth including in your itinerary.

Vytautas Hill

Birštonas Mound is known as Vytautas Hill. It is named after the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytautas and is one of the highest burial mounds in Lithuania, Vytautas Hill is a place with a long history and a wonderful view of the city and the river, where you can enjoy the splendor of nature.

Birštonas Observation Tower

If you want to climb even higher, visit the observation tower. The 45-meter-high observation deck offers a breathtaking view of the Nemunas River and the neighbourhood.

Druskupis – mineral water pavilion

This is the only place in Lithuania where you can try open-air inhalations. Located in Vytautas Jurgis Meška Park, the pavillion has a fountain with mineral water and a gallery. Water flows along the walls and evaporates under the sun, having a beneficial effect on one’s health.

Kneipp Garden

This unconventional outdoor wellness complex embraces a garden equipped to help people get tempered with water procedures. Here, you can experience hand and foot treatments in cool water to improve your health.

Villa Birutė – mineral water pavilion

Another unique spot where one can relax and breathe in the salubrious sea air. Inside the pavilion, you will find fountains with high mineralization water; around the pavillion, there are sun loungers for one to relax and enjoy the sky through the glass roof.

Yellow pump room

Resembling a fairy-tale house, the pump room is appealing to those who want to try mineral water mined at a depth of 125 meters. This is one of the symbols of the city. Many famous personalities had a sip of mineral water here.
